BDI and McKinsey come up with a comprehensive list of steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
BDI’s initiative ‘Business for Climate Protection’ and McKinsey & Company presented a study entitled “Costs and Potentials of Greenhouse Gas Abatement in Germany” in Berlin on 25 September 2007. The study is the first of its kind, compiling and analysing all important climate protection technologies from a business perspective. It includes a detailed inventory of the costs involved to cut greenhouse gas emissions, measured in euros per metric ton. The study shows that by applying technologies that are available today we can reduce Germany’s greenhouse gas emissions by an ambitious 30 percent in 2020 compared to 1990. Since early 2008 the initiative is headed by Mr. Peter Löscher, President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens AG. If you like, we would be happy to send you a print version of the study and the sector reports. Contact
