The architecture of the international cooperation on technology and finance posed one of the greatest conflicts during the UN-Climate Conference in Poznan and will also determine success or failure of the climate conference in Copenhagen in December 2009.

The architecture of the international cooperation on technology and finance posed one of the greatest conflicts during the UN-Climate Conference in Poznan and will also determine success or failure of the climate conference in Copenhagen in December 2009.

How will the transfer of technology work and be successful? How will it be financed? How can the clash of interests between developing countries and emerging markets on one side and industrialized countries on the other side be overcome? How can patent rights be upheld? Which financing instruments are appropriate to provide developing countries and emerging markets with funds to protect the climate? At which scale should this financial aid be offered?
